Empowering Youth Leadership
At YCI, we believe in the power of youth leadership. Our organization is guided by the energy, creativity, and dedication of young leaders who take charge and make a difference. These remarkable individuals are not just participants—they are the driving force behind our mission.
Each of our leaders earns their title through their volunteer hours, active participation, and unwavering passion. These titles are more than recognition; they symbolize their commitment, growth, and the responsibility they carry to inspire and lead others.
Through their leadership roles, they gain invaluable skills, a sense of purpose, and the confidence to shape their futures. By stepping into these roles, they embody the vision of our organization: to nurture the next generation of changemakers.
Meet Our Youth Leaders
They are the pillars of YCI and the most dedicated leaders within our organization.
Their artistic talent and strong sense of teamwork play a vital role in our mural projects, and they work alongside general members to lead and uplift our community. Their passion and commitment are a powerful reflection of what YCI truly stands for.
YCI Youth Leader Structure
Note: Our mural projects are permanent public works displayed in schools and community spaces. These are not casual activities, but creative missions that require commitment, collaboration, professional and passion. Only individuals who demonstrate a serious mindset and deep dedication can qualify for leadership.
General membership is open each year in March. However, to apply for the Youth Leader Team, candidates must have completed at least one full year of general membership. This allows us to better understand each student’s character, passion, and consistency.
Leadership roles are offered twice a year—on April 1st and October 1st. Leaders who remain active and responsible may continue, while those with limited engagement may be rotated out.
Membership fees are the same for all members. If you wish to apply for leadership but do not have a formal art background, please speak with the director about enrolling in a Leadership Prep Art Class (not a free course).
